Presenter, model and style queen Alexa Chung is launching her own fashion label
After a succession of successful collaborations with brands such as AG Jeans and Madewell, Alexa Chung is planning to launch her own fashion label next May.
The 32-year-old influencer is renowned for her impish, retro style, so much so that Mulberry dedicated a bag to her in 2009 and Marks & Spencer tapped her for its recent Archive By Alexa collection. Now she steps into the role of creative director at the helm of Alexachung, a ready-to-wear line that will consist of denim, daywear, eveningwear, shoes and jewellery.
“I want to make sure that we are offering something that is exciting and unique and new,” Chung said in a statement. “I feel like I need to get it up and running whilst I’m still young enough to have the energy and still be in touch with pop culture enough to make something that is actually relevant to the audience today."
She is overseeing a six-person design team, including the former head of Haider Ackermann, Edwin Bodson as managing director. The collection will be sold in Selfridges and Matches as well as via a dedicated e-commerce platform. Consider your Glastonbury 2017 wardrobe sorted, then.
