The New Natural
We went behind the scenes at L’Oréal Professionnel’s Botanēa shoot to find out how the brand’s first-ever 100 percent herbal hair colour works
Tapping into the wider well-being movement, where the ultimate in luxury is health, L’Oréal Professionnel is launching Botanēa into Toni&Guy salons. A real breakthrough in kind haircare, it is the brand’s first chemical-free, 100 percent herbal hair colour.
Crafted using just three ingredients – pure Cassia, cool Indigo and rich Henna – Botanēa is perfect whether you’re a hair dyeing newbie or just mindful of the impact that your colouring regime has on your hair and the planet.
Using varying water temperatures to release the different tones in the powder means that you can achieve the spectrum of luminous shades from Toni&Guy’s beautiful Colour Menu, a contemporary collection of warm redheads, cool blondes and brilliant brunettes. Coated in rich coconut oil, with a soothing scent that’s not unlike green tea, Botanēa is applied to the hair like a mask, where it works to blend greys and enhance the hair fibres for a personalised result that’s gloriously glossy and glowing. A relaxing and enriching treatment as much as it is hair colour, your locks will be left healthier and shinier than ever before.
And it’s not just your hair that it’s good for. Botanēa is packaged in jars made from 50 percent recycled materials, which can be refilled using recyclable sachets. This has allowed for a 74 percent decrease in waste compared to the classic jar system*. L’Oréal Professionnel also works with local cooperatives in India to ensure that all of the ingredients have been sustainably sourced and screened for any impurities. All of which makes Botanēa L’Oréal Professionnel’s kindest hair colour yet.
