we take a peek behind the scenes as Toni&Guy’s International Artistic director styles the hair at four of the most talked-about LFW shows

Ekaterina Kukhareva
Freemason’s Hall
Tuesday 19th February

‘I loved the inspiration for this show. The theme was 50s American housewife – beautiful, powerful women waiting for their husbands at home. We needed a look that would work with the collection and also incorporate Lara Jensen’s incredible jewelled rollers, so we settled on a “desperate housewife” hairstyle to achieve this.’

Jean-Pierre braganza
Courtyard Show Space
Friday 15th February

‘The theme of the collection was East meets West - lots of clean lines and intricate Japanese prints with splashes of colour. We wanted to give hair a really glossy shine to incorporate the Asian influence, we achieved this with label.m Shine Spray.’

Pam Hogg
Stationer’s Hall
Sunday 17th February

‘Styling was created to work in alignment with Pam’s headwear – I opted to create traditional Eastern looped buns to balance the oversized millinery. To get the look, I used label.m Volume Mousse to get the perfect malleable texture, label.m Shine Spray and Hairspray for hold and label.m Ressurection Style Dust to create width throughout the sides.’

GILES
Stationer’s Hallmonday
Monday 18th February

‘Every season Giles has a muse and we were very privileged to be working with model Kristen McMenamy for this show. Kristen turned up to the hair test with her extremely long hair in two tight braids. When she took them out we absolutely loved the way her long, lean hair looked and this became the inspiration for the entire show.’

All in a day’s work: Indira and the Toni&Guy session team pose for one last pic before (finally) heading home.
