A new installation housed in London’s uber-cool fashion Mecca Dover Street Market reveals a re-issued archive capsule from Burberry’s outstanding design history, following Christopher Bailey’s final bow at the esteemed house
Burberry’s Christopher Bailey staged a phenomenal multi-coloured exit during London Fashion Week, after 17 years heading a slew of legendary collections as Chief Creative Officer. A rainbow colour scheme infused his final AW18 show, with the brand’s newly introduced rainbow check taking centre stage.
"My final collection here at Burberry is dedicated to– and in support of – some of the best and brightest organisations supporting LGBTQ+ youth around the world," Bailey told Vogue.
To mark his historic departure, Burberry have launched a unique installation at Dover Street Market, where a re-issued capsule of archive pieces from the 1980s and ‘90s can be snapped up for a limited time. Pop to the Ground Floor Exhibition Space for a rare chance to see a specially curated selection of vintage Burberry trenches dating from the 1960s-90s, alongside a selection of LGBTQ+ and youth culture-themed tomes cherry picked by cult art and culture book retailer Claire de Rouen.
