Liverpool International Music Festival celebrates the city’s musical heritage
Liverpool International Music Festival (LIMF) is a five-day, city wide jamboree of cultural diversity. Summer Jam at Sefton Park boasts an impressive line-up including Kwabs, Sigma, The Wombats and Lianne La Havas. A highlight will undoubtedly be the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra’s tribute to Cilla Black, The Beatles and Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
Meanwhile LIMF Presents is the LIMF Academy’s showcase of upcoming talent alongside well-known musicians at iconic venues across the city. These special ReDefinition events explore the scenes that have shaped British contemporary music. Head to Arts Club to pogo to punk forerunners Buzzcocks and to the O2 Academy to hear Liverpudlian legends Lightening Seeds.
Other sonic moments to hunt down include reggae from Grammy nominated producer DJ Seani B, soul from 6 Music’s Gilles Peterson, house from Circus supremo Yousef and 60s rock from Love’s original guitarist Johnny Echols.
Liverpool International Music Festival takes place 20 - 24 July with tickets starting at £10.
