Kate Moss lends old school cool to adidas
Adidas Originals are set to relaunch their classic Gazelle design alongside original poster girl Kate Moss who fronted the 90s advertising campaign. They’ve also called on Insta-collage artist Doug Abraham (find him on Instagram under @bessnyc4) to splice original shots with new black and white images to create a fresh look that feels just as relevant today as it did in the 90s.
"Like the Gazelle, Kate Moss is just as relevant in 2016 as she was back in the 1990s, which is why the image works so well,” Adidas brand consultant and curator Gary Aspden told Business Of Fashion. “‘Kate told me earlier this year that when it comes to trainers she has always been an ‘Adidas girl,’ so there was an affinity and an existing synergy there.”
The updated shoe will feature a suede upper that comes in 12 colourways with refined black offset with fresh, bold hues like royal blue and lime green. The design will also feature the brand’s trademark three stripes and heel tab in bright white as well as a honeycomb sole.
Adidas’ Gazelle sneakers are priced from £74.95 and are available to buy on the Adidas website.
