Stella McCartney to launch menswear collection
Stella McCartney puts rumours to rest and announces her foray into menswear
With ready-to-wear, accessories, lingerie, fragrance and kids clothing under her belt it was only a matter of time before Stella McCartney added menswear to her portfolio. After the rumour mill went into overdrive in February, final confirmation was granted at the men’s trade show Pitti Uomo held in Florence last week.
While details are currently behind kept tightly under wraps a statement from the brand revealed that the new collection will take a modern approach to menswear, encouraging seasonless wardrobing, while adhering to the brand’s famously responsible and sustainable ethics. A lifelong vegetarian and animal rights activist, McCartney has always shunned using fur and leather to produce her accessories. For this menswear collection she is likely to draw on her early experience at Edward Sexton on London’s Savile Row.
The eponymous menswear range will be shown in London on the 10th November alongside the women’s spring 2017 collection, with pieces dropping in store from December. There’s Christmas sorted.
