Alexa Chung teams up with Marks and Spencer for a sentimental new collection
Model, presenter and all round style icon Alexa Chung is no stranger to a collaboration. The highly sought after 32-year-old was snapped up by AG jeans last summer to curate a nostalgic nineties denim line, and her eponymous Mulberry bag has been incalculably coveted by many a dedicated follower of fashion.
Internationally known for her understated style and her fondness of classic staples such as the breton tee, tailored shorts and leather loafers, it seems only natural that her next partnership should be with heritage high-street retailer Marks & Spencer. Rummaging through the M & S style archives, Alexa has carefully picked out her favourite looks from previous collections and reimagined them for today’s contemporary consumer in new fabrics and updated colourways. Titled Archive by Alexa the range will feature 31 simple refined ready-to-wear pieces.
“It was so fun to be given the keys to the M&S archive and such a treat to get to cherry pick the very best of their vast collection of pieces," she told Vogue. "I pulled from stored garments, in-house magazines and TV adverts from various points in the history of Marks & Spencer to create the collection that I believe looks every bit as relevant today as it did then."
Alexa has recently teased followers posting the announcement on Instagram alongside a selfie wearing a pastel pink ruffled collar dress.
The collaboration is the first of the ‘M&S &’ series which will see M&S partner with British designers, brands and fashion icons. The collection will be released in April in store and online.
