Make Like Moss
If you’re struggling for a signature look this party season, take your cues from the best in the business
Curls at Claridges
Kate wowed at her infamous The Beautiful and The Damned themed 30th birthday bash with a slinky sequinned floor-length gown and gravity defying corkscrew curls.
Nothing nods to the 90s more than a barely-there slip dress a la twenty-something Kate. Team with a grungy up-do and a glowing maquillage. And maybe a bra if it’s a work party.
Delightful in Dior
Kate arrived for the Golden Age of Couture Gala at the V&A an absolute dream in a show-stopping oyster satin vintage Christian Dior gown. She left – in true Mossy style – with it hitched up around her waist after Courtney Love stepped on (and ripped) the train. Whether you choose to channel Moss pre or post sartorial slip-up, you won’t go wrong with a bold red lip and Veronica Lake side-parting.
Kate nodded to the twenties with a beaded flapper dress but kept it fresh with a modern ‘do (read: long and loose). And while you may not be blessed with Mossy’s cut-glass bone structure, a full heavy fringe will set off kohl-rimmed eyes to perfection.
Kate surprised us with a saccharine lemon sherbet prom dress – side-stepping her usual offbeat-cool, but this is Kate and a bin bag would suffice. If you dare to bare this party season, opt for a sunkissed tan – no easy feat in December – and offset it with a bronde, layered look.
