Oscar winner Natalie Portman set to play Jackie Kennedy
Dream team Natalie Portman and Darren Aronofsky are reuniting for a film project focusing on the aftermath of the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963. The duo previously worked together, with Aronofsky directing Portman in the lead role of the award-winning dark ballet picture, Black Swan, which garnered Portman an Oscar win.
Their next collaboration will see Portman portraying the First Lady herself, Jacqueline Kennedy, in the five days that follow her husband’s murder. Aronofsky is to produce this time and Pablo Larrain set to direct, with the screenplay by Noah Oppenheim. Cast and crew are slated to begin work towards the end of the year.
‘It’s obviously a fascinating subject material and also Pablo Larrain is a phenomenal director that Darren introduced me to,’ Portman told Variety magazine. ‘I’m a big admirer.’
