Love Is Enough
The seminal works of William Morris and Andy Warhol sit side by side in this unique exhibition
Love is Enough arrives at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery this weekend, uniting the magnificent, rarely-seen works of William Morris and Andy Warhol.
Both were incredibly influential in their separate centuries: Warhol led the well-known pop art movement of the 1950s and 60s, and Morris is synonymous with the Arts and Craft movement of Victorian England, which worked towards reviving traditional textile arts and production methods. The project draws unexpected parallels between the two greats, finding links between their art and political views, and features Morris’s seldom seen Holy Grail tapestries and Warhol’s famous Elizabeth Taylor lithograph, amongst other works.
The exhibition will travel to Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery between 25 April and 6 September 2015
