Talking Shop

Fifty years since the first Biba store opened in London’s Kensington, founder Barbara Hulanicki reveals the secrets behind her iconic label at the V&A Museum.

Biba, the brand that introduced leopard print, faux fur and the trouser suit for women to the mainstream, revolutionised British style by making high fashion affordable and available on the high street.

This Friday, Barbara will appear in conversation with Justine Picardie, editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar, at the V&A Museum to give a behind-the-scenes glimpse into how her iconic concept stores became synonymous with swinging Sixties glamour and revolutionised the way we shop.
