Film buffs and foodies unite at this new pop-up eatery
Nestled between Charlotte Street and Tottenham Court Road is stylish new eatery Stephen St Kitchen, a new pop-up restaurant fronted by Benugo and housed within BFI Fitzrovia.
The space, with its hip industrial concrete ceilings and vast velvet booths, deserves a turn whether you squeeze it in pre or post indie film. Designed by the Softroom Architects, it's unpretentious and inviting but still feels like a treat. Keenos can watch and learn from the chefs if they opt for the kitchen counter seating area.
The menu - the vision of celebrated head chef Mark Block - is an eclectic mixture of European favourites and there's a generous vegetarian offering of roast peppers, classic flatbreads and middle-eastern garnishes. Don't leave without trying one of the pizzas, cooked to perfection on a brass-plated wood-fired oven or a rich array of desserts inspired by the British summertime including Elderflower jelly and ice cream. Those in a rush can choose from a menu of lighter bites or opt for a liquid lunch on the very stylish sun terrace. We recommend as many Asian Pear Martinis as you can muster.
