Be transported to the distant land of Morocco with Aesop’s seductive new fragrance
Last week, Aesop unveiled the new addition to its fragrance family: Marrakech Intense. This woody oriental blend created by the Australian beauty brand is the third in their fragrance trilogy of heady scents inspired by faraway lands
The result of a collaboration with respected French perfumer Barnabé Fillion, this new addition to the range reinvents Aesop's original Marrakech fragrance with floral heart and top notes of Italian bergamot and neroli, for a fresh, modern feel.
The French perfumer was interested in the idea of incorporating innovation in traditional methods of perfumery. He says of the perfume: “I used a lot of essential oils present in the first perfume but tried to uplift it with raw materials and used a different way of extraction to give brightness and modernity”.
The evocative, spicy aroma has a strong botanical side to it with hints of Turkish rose added to lift the original cardamom and clove base. It’s an ode to modern day Marrakech – more Majorelle Garden than traditional souk – and can be worn by men and women alike.
Marrakech Intense is available from September in 10ml Parfum roll-on form and 10ml, £63 and Eau de Toilette spray, £53; aesop.com
